“とろ〜りリボン・プロジェクト”とは、Q-pot. のブランドコンセプトである「楽しい気持ちや笑顔の連鎖を世界中に広げたい」との思いから始まった、ブランド発のドネーションプロジェクト。
ブランド設立以来、「Q-pot.」 の「pot」とは「水瓶」の意味でもあることから、全ての生命の源である「水」を届け、笑顔を結び繋げていきたいとQ-pot. は考えてきました。
そしていよいよ、2009年秋、Q-pot.デザイナー ワカマツ タダアキが叶えたかった夢がついに実現します。
“Toro-ri Ribbon (drop of melting ribbon) Project” is a donation project that was born out of Q-pot.’s brand concept “Spreading joyful hearts and chain of smiles throughout the world” . We hope that a “drop of melting ribbon” would lead to cleaner water in Africa and world peace.
Since its establishment, Q-pot. has always hoped to bring clean water, which forms the very basis of our lives, to people in need and spread smiles among them.
And now, in fall 2009, Q-pot. Designer, Tadaaki Wakamatsu finally makes this dream come true.

Collaboration T-shirts by Q-pot and UT will be launched ! Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Ethiopia Water Project through UNHCR.
The collaboration T-shirts will be launched at UT STORE HARAJUKU and UNIQLO ONLINE STORE in 14 September,
They will be sold in certain UNIQLO shops in Japan, France, UK, China and Hong Kong.

「Q-pot.」と「ユニクロUT」のコラボTシャツの収益金の一部は、UNHCR（国連難民高等弁務官事務所）を通じて、エチオピアにおける水プロジェクトへ寄付されます。井戸づくり、井戸の維持管理、水を運ぶ容器の購入など人々がきれいな「水」を得るために使われていきます。
A part of the proceeds from the sale of these T-shirts will be donated to the Ethiopia Water Project through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The donations will be used to build and maintain wells, purchase tanks for transporting water, or other means for people to gain access to cleaner water.

エチオピアは、エリトリア、ソマリアをはじめ、スーダン、ケニア、ジブチの５ヶ国に囲まれている国で、歴史的にも数多くの難民を受け入れています。現在も約8万人以上の難民がエチオピアで暮らしており、西のスーダンからの難民、北部エリトリアからの難民、またさらに東になりますが、ソマリアから逃げてくる難民、大きく分けて3ヶ国からの難民が避難生活を余儀なくされています。
中でもアフリカの角と呼ばれている地域を領域とするエリアであるソマリアは、1991年に勃発した内戦により国土が分断され、暫定政府が一党独裁制を行っていますが、いまだ無政府の状態にあり、毎月1.200人ものソマリア人がエチオピア国境付近に逃れている状況が続いています。
このように難民が増加している中で、ソマリア難民のキャンプにおいて水不足は深刻な問題の一つです。この水不足問題を解決するため、UNHCRでは難民キャンプ内に給水ポイントを設置する活動を行っております。
Encircled by five countries Eritrea, Somalia, Sudan, Kenya and Djibouti Ethiopia historically has hosted a large number of refugees. There are over 80,000 refugees living in Ethiopia now. Most of the refugees came from one of these three countries Sudan, Eritrea, or Somalia.
In particular, Somalia, located in the “Horn of Africa”, has been plagued by the civil war which broke out in 1991. Currently, 1,200 Somalis are seeking refuge in the border region of Ethiopia every month,
The increasing number of refugees in Ethiopia has led to a serious water shortage. In order to address this water problem, UNHCR has been actively engaged to set up additional water supply points in the refugee camp areas.
今回の収益金の一部で、5か所の給水ポイントを増設し、1か所につき、8名が、5か所合計で40名が一度に水を汲むことができるようになります。これにより約3.200人の難民の方の生活用水をまかなうことができます。寄付金は、給水ポイント建設にあたり、上水道を敷設するためにも活用されます。給水ポイントを増設することによって、既存の給水ポイントにおける長蛇の列を緩和し、遠くへ水を求めに出歩くリスクも軽減します。これは、水汲みが主要な仕事となっている子供や女性たちにとって、学びや家事の時間を確保することにつながります。
With part of the proceeds from the sale, we plan to construct 5 supply points with 8 taps at each point for a total of 40 taps. This will provide sufficient amount of cleaner water for a population of 3,200 refugees. The donations will also be spent to install water pipes. Additional water points would reduce congestion and shorten the time spent queuing for water collection. Since water collection usually ends up to be the responsibility of women and children, having more water points is likely to partially eliminate their burden.
エチオピア近況報告
- 水源から難民キャンプまで7ｋｍものパイプラインが建設されているところです。
Building 7km of pipeline from the well to refugee camp
- 試験の段階でこんなに奇麗な水が勢いよく噴射されました。
Fresh water overflowed from the well in the test digging.
- 皆様の寄付金により、10箇所の給水スポットがエリアごとに設置され、1箇所の給水スポットで一度に7名が水を汲むことが出来る様になりました。
By your kind donation, 10 water distribution points with 7 taps each were installed in different blocks and zones of the camp.
- これまで子どもたちは、水汲みのために7ｋｍも歩かなければならず、勉強や遊ぶ時間を削るしかありませんでしたが、給水スポットの建設により、子どもたちの教育機会の提供にもつながっているのです。
Installing water distribution provides an opportunity of education for children. Previously, they had to walk 7km to drawing water, in stead of spending their time for studying and playing.
